chapter 14
Learning about different traits was pretty cool. I knew that not everyone had the same one, but just the different trait theories was interesting. The thing I found the most interesting and exciting was planning the trip with other people who had somewhat of the same personality as myself. Just knowing that there are some people who think the same way I do is nice to know. I didn't think that just one little quiz could define me is kind of cool. Over all I really enjoyed this chapter.

Chapter 9
I really enjoyed this chapter. I liked learning about the the different ways that parents invest in their children. I know just from watching people that the norm is for the mothers to be loving and the fathers to be in and out of the picture. But I've seen it the opposite where the mother is gone and the father is the one that the kids spend all of their time with. And just knowing the way that the parents effect children is interesting. Like with the Bogle family where the parents were the ones who messed their kids up to the point where almost all of the children had gone to prision. It is kind of sad, but at the same time it can be very good.

Chapter 11
I found it really interesting to learn about the seven types of emotion. I knew there were different ones, but I thought there were more than that. I know there is different levels of emotions, but it was cool to find out what the main ones were. I also found it interesting that certain stimulations can account for specific actions and emotions.

Field Day
I loved field day! It was amazing to walk around and see how everyone at the U got around campus. When we went to the live lecture I got there early and sat in the very back. While I was waiting for the lecture to start I saw how everyone was on their labtop some were singing and listening to music and others were playing games. Once the lecture started there were a few students who were still playing games. And there were three guys a row in front of me who sat there the whole time watching videos on youtube. It was very impressive to watch the lecture live. It makes even more interesting to see everything done live and get the real feel of how a lecture really goes. I loved loved loved it!

Chapter 8
After learning about language and how different things can change the way you percieve things made me thankful that I have all my speech in check. But now I second guess my memories. I wonder if they are actually what happened or when I retrieved them they changed. So it is harder to tell stories that use to be so clear to me. Also when I found out about the splitting of the corpus collsum I thought of my best friend. She has been having major siezures and can't seem to get them to stop. I thought of how this procedure might help her, then thought how it would not be something she wanted just from knowing that you can't speak what you see on your left side and can only draw it. And I know that it is not how she would want to live. But it was interesting to learn about how it has helped save many people's life in the past. I really enjoyed this chapter.

Chapter 7
I loved this chapter. I know I had learned it before, but it was nice reviewing it all. I love learning about memory, and how sometimes it can be tricked and manipulated. It is interesting to know that there are different methods to memorizing certain things. Just knowing what I already knew and adding all the new information was amazing. I learned that my short-term memory has increased over the year from practicing. It was a great chapter.

Exam 1
I don't know if I really enjoyed the first exam. It was a great way though to learn that I need to study more than I did before I took the exam. Now I know what to expect when I get ready for the next one. The questions that were asked on the exam were pretty well worded I thought and were straight forward. I am not looking forward to the next exam, but I know now what to expect now.

Chapter 3
I have really enjoyed learning about how different types of drugs legal or illegal effect how a person functions. Or how different things can change the way a person acts or moves. I realized it all starts with the way you think or the things you take to change a person's personality. It is really important that you pay attention to the things you take and the side effects it gives you to make sure you are being safe and taking care of your body and brain. I find it very interesting and can't wait to learn more.

chapter 2
When I think of resarch I think of long hours spent trying to find outcomes that might not make sense. But when I read this chapter I saw how much research has helped people in many situations. It is not always just about finding one answer. It is about finding more ways to think about something. So I found it interesting how many ways you can collect data and organize it to find new topics that are common. It was a very long but informational chapter.

First Week
For this course I hope to achieve a grade that reflects the work and effort I put into any homework or tests that I am given. Also that I participate in many activities that we work on in class and enjoy this class and learn as much as possible. My reflection on High School vs. College is that high school is easier than college because your classes are smaller and you have more of an interaction between the student and the teacher. In that case if you do not understand a certain concept you could easily talk to your teacher and they would help you. Yet in college you might not have that same opportunity because the professor's classes are larger and might not always be available when needed. I defiantly found this article informative and interesting to see how much of a difference there really is between the two.
